Utility-Based HTN Planning
We propose the use of HTN planning for risk-sensitive planning domains. We suggest utility functions that reflect the risk attitude of compound tasks, and adapt a best-first search algorithm to take such utilities into account.
متن کاملHTN Planning with Preferences
In this paper we address the problem of generating preferred plans by combining the procedural control knowledge specified by Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs) with rich user preferences. To this end, we extend the popular Planning Domain Definition Language, PDDL3, to support specification of simple and temporally extended preferences over HTN constructs. To compute preferred HTN plans, we pro...
متن کاملHTN Planning: Complexity and Expressivity
Most practical work on AI planning systems during the last fifteen years has been based on hierarchical task network (HTN) d ecomposition, but until now, there has been very little analytical work on the properties of HTN planners. This paper describes how the complexity of HTN planning varies with various conditions on the task networks. networks are required to be totally ordered, and (3) whe...
متن کاملTight Bounds for HTN Planning
Although HTN planning is in general undecidable, there are many syntactically identifiable sub-classes of HTN problems that can be decided. For these sub-classes, the decision procedures provide upper complexity bounds. Lower bounds were often not investigated in more detail, however. We generalize a propositional HTN formalization to one that is based upon a function-free first-order logic and...
متن کاملSHOP2: An HTN Planning System
The SHOP2 planning system received one of the awards for distinguished performance in the 2002 International Planning Competition. This paper describes the features of SHOP2 which enabled it to excel in the competition, especially those aspects of SHOP2 that deal with temporal and metric planning domains.
